Our custom landscaping process includes:
Our landscape designer will discuss your project needs in a phone conversation and schedule a time to meet for a free initial consultation. Your needs will be evaluated on site by the designer to determine your project, budget, scope, and other details. This meeting will determine if a master plan is required or provide you with an estimate for your project.
If it is determined that a master plan is not required we will provide you with a written proposal based on the previously determined budget and requirements for your approval. A sketch of the project will accompany the proposal, and specify description of work, quantities of materials required, and labor costs. Should you need a more detailed drawing of your project; the designer will quote you a price for the master plan at the initial consultation for approval. Upon receipt of a design deposit, we will start the master plan; measurements are taken, and a 2 to 6 weeks’ time period to produce the plan. Once the plan is completed, another meeting is scheduled to review the plan for review. The master plan typically consists of scaled drawings, showing structures, property lines, drainage, easements, and utilities. Itemized legends for planting, lighting, or construction details are listed with types of materials; varieties, quantities and sizes of materials needed. After the plan is reviewed and accepted, an itemized written proposal is provided as described.
When the designer completes the design or estimate, another meeting to review the proposal is made with the customer. If the project is accepted, the customer makes a required 10% deposit and the job is placed on our schedule for installation. Typically the waiting period is from 2 to 8 weeks depending on the season. Prior to starting the project, a pre job is scheduled with the designer and foreman to discuss the layout and details. Generally a 48-hour notice is given to the customer as to when the project will start. A payment will be requested once the project is under way, and reviewed frequently by the designer throughout the project.
When the project is completed, a final walk through will be scheduled within 48 hours with the designer and the customer to review the project and make the final payment collection. At this time, care for the landscape and instructions are given to the customer for optimum success of the landscape. A one-year warranty will be offered on the workmanship of the landscape, and a 90-day warranty on plants as described on the proposal.
